Beauty Trend: Candy-Colored Eyes

Candy-colored eyes are a sure winner for Spring!One of the latest looks in makeup trends for Spring is a colorful palette used on the face.  A flawless yet dewy foundation is paired with every color under the rainbow to give you plum cheeks, playful lips and candy colored eyes.  Don’t be afraid to use color this season, and with a little practice you can rock candy-colored eyes with shadows of all colors in no time!

  • Entire Lid. For starters, you want to sweep your entire eyelid (upper lash line to brow bone) with a mid-tone color.  The secret to flawless candy-colored eyes is to have a mid range shade that perfectly blends the edges of the darker base on and below the crease to the accent highlight color on the brown bone.  A funky orange or quirky copper is a great choice for this mid-tone color for your candy-colored eyes!

 

  • The Crease & Below. Go for impact with a deep rich shade.  This is your base color and it will be applied on your eyelid along the lash line to the crease.  It will probably also extend over to the outer edges of your eye.  Great choices for this base color are shades of dark pink, royal blue, and violet purple.  This is the second step in achieving candy-colored eyes.

 

  • Along the Brow Bone. This shade (or two shades) will be your highlight and is only to be applied to your brow bone.  Use a metallic gold, shimmery yellow, or sparkling green here.  If you want to use two shades for your brow bone, layer two very similar metallic or shimmery shades one almost on top of the other along the brow bone.  Your candy-colored eyes will pop when someone sees you!

 

Candy-colored eyes are very easy to achieve with a little practice and patience.  But perfect this look and people will not be able to turn away from you!

Bright Colors in Eyeshadow, Flashy Colored Eyeliner & Bold Lip Glosses...Oh My!Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you should be dull!

Bright colors in eyeshadow, flashy colored eyeliner, and bold lip glosses are the hottest in beauty trends right now.  Bright colors are the new “it” trend in your cosmetics and should be worn on the features or parts of your face that you wish to draw attention to.  Read on to learn more!

  • Bright Color Eyesahdows. It all starts with the eyes!  You want to accent one of your most beautiful features with bright colors in eyeshadows.  Weather you have baby blues or creamy browns, add a pop of color to your eyes by wearing shades of pink, blue, purple and yellow!  If this is something you are a little weary of, start with deeper shades of a certain color (like dark pink) on the entire lid and only accent the brow bone with hot pink.  So have no fear and wear bright colors in eyeshadow to draw attention to your eyes today!
  • Flashy Colored Eyeliner. As a color compliment to you wearing bright colors in eyeshadow, you need to have flashy colored eyeliner!  You will want to go more metallic or bright for flashy colored eyeliner.  All colors are great, just stay away from pinks and reds as they will make you look like you have pink eye!  A metallic gold or flashy blue will really pop against a similarly (or contrastingly) shaded bright color eyeshadow.
  • Bold Lip Glosses. If you have well shaped lips, whether full or more petite, you probably want to draw attention to this particular facial feature.  Unlike bright colors in eyeshadow or flashy colored eyeliner, you want to really take what compliments your complexion best into account before choosing bold lip glosses.  Rouges, corals, and plums look great on lighter to medium tanned skin. Browns, coppers and deeper reds look great on deeper complexions. Pinks and Peaches look great on fair complexions.  So whatever you choose, be fearless in perfecting your pout with bold lip glosses.

Of course you do!  Daily life, stress, work, hormonal changes and more can affect the complexion of women, many times leaving it less than flawless.  So, read on if you are interested in learning how to achieve a flawless complexion with makeup.

  • Get the right brush.  I know you may think to get a flawless complexion with makeup you probably need a concealer brush to apply the full coverage concealer you picked.  WRONG!  Concealer brushes are okay, but an arced or angle eyeliner brush works best.  It will give you more precise coverage and better control over where you place the product.  I highly recommend using: Smashbox Arced Liner Brush #21, $20.
  • Dot Concealer to Apply. Now that you have the right product and tool, it is time for application.  For a flawless complexion with makeup you want to dot the concealer on any blemishes, broken capillaries, or other skin imperfections on your face.  The concealer, since it is full coverage, will stay in place and therefore last for hours.
