The chignon is a classic look done sleek and sexy for Fall 2010! Stay far away from excessive hairsprays, gels, or other products that will give you “wedding” hair. You know, the hair that looks like it will break if touched because it’s so perfect. Instead a wax or other light hair pomade should be used for shaping the hottest chignons as well as the use of hair pins of all shapes and sizes.
Since the look can seem complex at first, you want to try and practice with variations of the traditional bun to achieve the look you want. Chignons are also versatile since you can wear them low or high on the head. To spice up your night, add thin strips of ribbon or exotic strands of beads to your chignon. Whatever you decide, a little practice makes perfect and you can never go wrong with this contemporary classic style!
